The parameters of LGF

LGF is known as light guide film, it is to add a layer of LGF in the normal double-layer structure dome array or EMI structure to the light distribution effect good.

The parameters and advantages of LGF has the following several items:

1.The first is the shape: circle, four-leg, triangular, or oblong snap domes; 2.Then the press force, choice the best suitable force for your product, such as the 280,300,350g are the most popular.

The relative between thickness and diameter of the snap domes

Do there has a certain relative between thickness and diameter of the snap domes? Generally there has a certain relationship.

Snap domes material generally used is stainless steel 301 and 304, the shape we have circle, cross, triangle and oblong, with diameters from 3mm to 20mm. Here you can have a look at their relationship:

1. Diameter: 3mm-5mm; Material thickness: 0.04mm-0.06mm;

2. Diameter: 6mm-8mm; Material thickness: 0.06mm-0.08mm;

3. Diameter: 9mm-12mm; Material thickness: 0.09mm-0.1mm;

4. Diameter: 16mm-20mm; Material thickness: 0.12mm.

What is the metal snap dome?

What is the metal snap dome? Metal snap dome(also name metal dome, snap dome), which is made ??of stainless steel. the thickness is between 0.05mm to 0.20mm. The metal dome is an important part of the switch. metal snap dome is mainly used in membrane switch, key switches, PCB board, FPC board, medical devices and other products.

Metal snap dome works theory is: When they placed the switch position, and you press down to contact with PAD of PCB circuit board, so that the circuits is conducted.

Metal dome array burr caused reasons and solutions

When we make the metal dome array by mold, the burrs will be found in the production process, then why do it’s happened, and what can we do to solve it?

Caused reasons and solutions as below:
1. The mold for outline is not level – adjust mold balance;
2. The outline mold is not sharp  – to do repair again for mold;
3. The large gap between the mold – according to engineering specifications gap to adjust;
4. The material is too thinner – using the appropriate thickness of the material.

For unqualified products, we are not allow to delivery from our factory, we have a strict quality management system to ensure the quality of our metal dome arrays. If our products have the quality problems, we will take full responsibility.

How many types of snap domes do we have?

How many types of snap domes do we have?  All most snap domes we have made, but generally we have divided into four types. Please see belows:

1. Four-leg snap domes: also call cross snap dome, most used in the membrane keypads;

2. Round snap domes: the shape is round, widely used in mobile phones;

3. Triangle snap domes: the shape is triangle, which can be made with two legs.If you want to have legs into your pcb board, then you can choose this type;

4. Oblong snap domes: the shape is oblone, like cut the two side of round snap domes.

Assembly process of metal dome array

Recently, we have received customers question about the assemly process of metal dome array. How do assemble the metal dome array on the pcb board?

First, dome arrays have attached to the release paper, release paper is just do a supporting role;

Secondly, use tweezers or some other tools to peel off from the release paper;

Finally, stick it on the board with glue layer, pressing a little bit, so it can be very firmly attached to the top of the pcb board.

Metal dome array with 3M adhesive tape

Metal dome array with 3M adhesive tape is to use 3M adhesive tape instead of our normal adhesive tape to make the metal dome array, our company is fully can make.

Metal dome array with 3M adhesive tape is generally required from foreign customers,as the 3M adhesive with higher adhesive, afford the high temperature, and more stable. But the cost is also very higher.We are also have the 3M adhesive in stock, such as the commonly used 3M467, so if you

Which snap domes are suitable for PCB board as switches? The answer is almost all types of metal snap domes are OK, but different end-products required is not the same.
